I’ve experienced a lot of creative blocks and burnout before, and you’re definitely doing the right thing by letting go and focusing on the things that bring you pleasure. Wishing you a relaxing rest of the year! 💜
After 62 years, I'm finally getting to know myself but it's been a struggle. Thanks to you and some writers like you that helped open my eyes, I was able to find that quiet place of shadows and slow down enough where I could hear what this beautiful universe and my own heart were speaking. Not trying to be overly dramatic but kindred spirits can connect on the cosmic consciousness level and share the real truths of the heart and spirit. You provide that corner to listen and contemplate with your writing so Thank You. That joy will return before you know it and like a natural spring, words will pour out.
Wise choice indeed! In my experience, the animate world around me knows more about what I need to write than I do. Your writing will be all the richer for letting go and immersing yourself in the land, weather, and waters around you. Talk to them, and offer gifts. Tell them your stories and they will tell you theirs. Seriously: it’s the only way I can write. Just today, seagulls showed me how, by being attentive, we can recognize when what we need washes up at our feet.
Ah, I was looking forward to Fireside Ghosts! But your writing has to come from a place of peace and inspiration. If you force it, it won't bring joy to you or to your readers. Enjoy refilling your creative and spiritual well.
Yes, I absolutely feel this. "I’ve lost whatever it is that connects me to that quiet, unearthly place where stories live." I have experienced this more than a few times with music, and, just as you are doing, I just need to walk away, to let go, so I can go fill my cup with the things in my life that do that.
